July 29th, 2009 was the day. We waited all morning for a call from the hospital so we could get the ball rolling. Finally, at 10:30 we got the call. We loaded up the kids and took them to my sister Jamie and headed for the hospital. It was a really busy day at the hospital and we got the last of 16 rooms. As we were being admitted another lady came in with actual labor pains and she was going to have to wait in triage until someone else was done. Bummer, for her. Anyway, they got the pitocin started at 12:45, epidural at 2:00, baby delivered at 3:34 without Dr. Ludlow. He got there once all the action was over and was very upset. I definately prefer being in labor when the hospital is busy. Dr. Nance was just down the hallway and was into the room very quickly along with about 4-5 other nurses.
It took until right before we were leaving the hospital the next day to finally decide on his name. We considered a bunch of different names, but Zaiden Cris Benson is what we finally decided on. Zaiden was 18 inches long and 6 lbs 11 oz. We think he looks most like Ethan right now. We are so happy to have him here and healthy. The kids are wonderful with him and are excited to have a brand new brother.
