We had a wonderful time camping at Sand Hollow near St. George. We left Thursday afternoon and got there just in time to set up camp and make dinner. Grandma & Grandpa Deene got there just before they got locked out of the gates and we all went to bed.
Friday morning, Jordan & Olivia showed up just in time for breakfast. We spent the day letting the kids play in the swimmer's itch invested water! Mario and Jordan took their motorcycles out for a spin on the dunes. We were all in shock when Mario came back with a limp and a hole in his motorcycle boot. He had launched himself off of a dune that just dropped straight down onto some pretty hard dirt. He didn't decide what to do quick enough and he ended up crashing on his side and the bike falling on top of him. The foot peg went right through the heel of his boot. He was really lucky to come out with some minor aches and bruises! That evening Jennifer, TJ and Draeven got there and dinner was not ready for them! We did have a great dinner, it was just a bit late. Saturday, we spent riding the dunes, playing in the water, fishing and enjoying the HOT weather! I had a great water fight with Ethan and helping him finish a sand castle. Grandma and Grandpa Deene went on a beautiful scenic ride. Some people that were camped next to us got their van and boat trailer buried in the sand. Thanks to Grandpa Deene they were able to get out. Then they let Mario borrow one of their boats to take the kids for a ride chasing the million ducks that were out in the water.
Sunday, we left the kids at camp with Grandma and Grandpa and went out to the trail they had done. We didn't make it the whole way because the GPS died and we couldn't find the trail. We still had a great time on the dunes. We had some lunch and then cleaned up camp. We generated a bunch of trash and Jordan and Olivia got to haul it all to the dumpsters! What good sports they were! It was a great trip and we are glad Olivia invited us go try out a new place!
